June 2023 marks the end of the mandate period for the GYG Steering Committee and GYG Oversight Committee, triggering the next cycle of GYG elections. The deadline to receive candidacies closed on Sunday 18 June. This page details the eligible candidates and their associated application documents, all of which are linked below.
Votes will be cast by the registered voting representative of each GYG Member Organisation. Registration to vote is now closed, but the Oversight Committee will consider late registrations on a case-by-case basis. Please write to us if your Member Organisation has not registered to vote via oversightcommittee@globalyounggreens.org. Voting will open by Wednesday 22 June 2023 at the very latest, and will close exactly one week later. Registered representatives will receive unique, secure links to cast their ballot. Votes will be counted via an STV voting system.
Please note:
- The Steering Committee is regionally and gender balanced, with a maximum of 4 members from each region (Africa, Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe).
- The Oversight Committee is regionally balanced, with one representative per region (Africa, Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe).
Please note that Code of Conduct / Code de Conduite / Codigo de Conducta for elections applies to all candidates and Member Organisations of GYG.

Steering Committee
The Steering Committee is the second highest decision-making body of GYG. Its primary responsibility is to implement decisions of the Congress, the highest decision making body, and to steer the network on behalf of its members.

Global Young Greens Oversight Committee
The task of the GYG Oversight Committee is to hold the GYG Steering Committee accountable with the consideration of the Organisational Principles, overseeing and ensuring complaints are dealt with fairly, the running of GYG elections (as well as overseeing co-options), and amending of the Organisational Principles for documental clarity.
