Security situation in Senegal

The run-off election has been set for Sunday 25 March, with results due on 28 March. We are evaluating the implications for the Congress which begins on 27 March and will provide constant updates if the situation changes. While the first round of voting on February 26 proceeded peacefully, there were several violent demonstrations in the preceding weeks.  The potential for demonstrations still continues. At the moment the situation is very calm. We are in close contact with people in Senegal that monitor the situation and update us about any changes. GYG will take measures to provide all security information for the participants and ensure our safe staying in Dakar.

If you have any concerns or questions, please write to congress@globalyounggreens.org
