I am writing to you in relation to the above subject.
Global Young Greens is a youth movement founded in Nairobi, January 2007 with a focus to bring together young people under the age of 35 passionate about ecological justice, social justice, and peace and grassroots democratic participation.
The GYG recently held its second congress in Berlin, Germany and in line with the constitution elected a new Steering Committee. However the African Representation is not complete. Three members were elected on set criteria in a free and democratic process agreed at the congress. However the other available candidate did not meet the threshold for election. I was therefore mandated to work informally with the elected new representatives from Africa to search for the other representative through an open and competitive process, in my capacity as the outgoing SC member from Africa and Chair of the Africa Young Greens meeting.
1. REPRESENTATIVE TO GYG STEERING COMMITTEE:
CRITERIA:
MUST be from Northern Africa
MUST be less than 35 years of age
MUST be a lady (gender balance)
MUST have interest in GYG and subscribe to its principles
